This Privacy Policy explains how Velvoria ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit velvoriahome.shop, make a purchase or otherwise contact us. Velvoria is a business registered in Germany, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to how we handle your data, wherever you are located.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What personal data we collect

  • Contact and order data: name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number (optional), items ordered and order history.
  • Payment data: payments are processed by our payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal). We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Communication data: information you give us when you contact us.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed and how you interact with our store, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

3. Why we use your data and on what legal basis

  • To process and deliver your order, handle returns and provide customer service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of a contract).
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax and commercial record-keeping (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • To keep our store secure, prevent fraud and improve our services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interests).
  • To send marketing emails and use non-essential cookies, only if you have given your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

4. Who we share your data with

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes data on our behalf. Learn more in the Shopify Privacy Policy.
  • Fulfillment partners and suppliers (including our dropshipping partner DropCommerce and its suppliers in the United States), who receive your name, shipping address and order details to ship your order.
  • Shipping carriers, to deliver your package.
  • Payment providers, to process your payment.
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to do so.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International data transfers

Some of the service providers above are located outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States and Canada. Where data is transferred to such countries, we rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (e.g. the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the store to work (e.g. your cart and checkout). Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you consent through our cookie banner. You can change your choices at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Order and invoice data is kept for the retention periods required by German commercial and tax law. Marketing data is deleted when you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw any consent you have given. Depending on the U.S. state you live in, you may have similar rights under state privacy laws, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Germany.

9. Children

Our store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
